DAZLINGSOUL IS MOVING IN THE NEW YEAR - Please check out the new web site HERE,  And don't forget to bookmark the new address!

I must confess I've never really been one for watching music video's - Mainly I think because when I was younger the people I liked never made them and the TV  certanly never showed them - But my little brother - Scott - keeps on sending them to me, so I thought I'd start adding a few.

If you come across any good ones why not send them over!

(click on the pictures below to watch the video)

RICK JAMES - GIVE IT TO ME BABY

This was the first video I can remember seeing in a night club - It was Flicks in Kent in about 1982 - The same year it was voted The second best club in the South of England by Blues and Soul magazine! (The Goldmine was top - But I wasn't that cool!) - So I thought it would be a good place to start.  Enjoy!

SHUYA OKINO (CLARA HILL) - IF IT IS LOVE

The latest one from brother Scott and it's a winner! Shuya and his band live in Tokyo with a track from what may well have been the album of 2006.

SYLVIA ROBINSON - PILLOW TALK

The lady with probably the sexiest voice ever (!) live on Soul Train!

RUFUS (FEAT. CHAKA KHAN) - MEDLEY

And talking of sexy, here's the lady who really had it all going on! Along with the band she made all of her best music - Rufus!

we have a nice little medley here from the Soul Train show in the 1970's.

MARVIN GAYE - WHAT'S GOING ON/WHAT'S HAPPENING BROTHER

The master! For me (and most people I'm sure!) the greatest of all time! Here with a great live version and cool video too from probably the greatest album ever recorded! 'Nuff said!

DAVID JOSEPH - YOU CAN'T HIDE (YOUR LOVE FROM ME)

One of my favourites - Looking and sounding good!

ISAAC HAYES - SCORES SHAFT FILM

Here's something rather special, the great man at work scoring the film complete with clips!

JAMIROQUAI - LOVE FOOLOSOPHY

For me there's nobody (with the possible exception of Bluey from Incognito) who has made so much cool music in the last 15-20 years as JK and the gang. I still remember the day I first heard them, I was amazed that it wasn't an obscure 70's group I'd missed!

Well here's something recorded live at Abbey Road Studio's and it sound great!

TAVARES - HEAVEN MUST BE MISSING AN ANGEL

I know it's corny and so commercial but it's also one of my all time favourites!

When it came out it sounded so sophisticated and classy - to these young ears at least!

In this little video we have our heroes in red suits (!) synchronizing for all they're worth - Wonderful!

LEE GARRETT - YOU'RE MY EVERYTHING

Another off my all time favourites - I think I'm giving far too much away here!

This track way back in 1976 sounded so glamour's it made me long for those Disco lights!

In this little video we have the great Pans People doing their thing to Lee's cool sounds - This really is the gift that keeps on giving!

EARTH,WIND & FIRE ( AND THE EMOTIONS) - BOOGIE WONDERLAND

The greatest band of all time at the peak of their powers - A joy to behold!

ROSE ROYCE - LOVE DON'T LIVE HERE ANYMORE

Yet another Disco classic I know but boy this just sounds - and looks - so cool still!

Musical perfection from 1978!

DARYL HALL & JOHN OATS - SHE'S GONE

Now, I just bet the boys love this picture - But trust me it wasn't the worst one!

But what a track! You can call it Blue-Eyed Soul if you like but I just call it Great-Soul!

The clip we have is from The Old Grey Whistle Test (A BBC show) in 1976.

ALESSI BROTHERS - OH LORI

A guilty pleasure I know but this holds so many memories of the long hot summer of 1976 and besides, it's impossible not to sing along!

DR. BUZZARD'S ORIGINAL SAVANNAH BAND - CHERCHEZ LE FEMME

People who saw them say they were unbelievable live, well here's a little taste of what they were like in 1977.

CURTIS MAYFIELD - FREDDIE'S DEAD

For me it doesn't get much better than Curtis at his best and here he is live in 1973 - WOW!

D'ANGELO - BROWN SUGAR

As I'm sure you know I stoped buying music for almost all the 1990's, so i was late coming to D'Angelo's great Brown Sugar album but when I did find it it pretty much blew me away! And it could well be the best album of that decade - What a shame the follow up was so poor!

RAPHAEL SAADIQ - NEVER GIVE YOU UP

What a track! I voted it The best of 2008 - Although there were a couple of other tracks which could have also got the nod! - Soul at it's best!

CERRONE - SUPERNATURE

The French Disco king on the track which first brought him to my attention and the video even got played on TV too!

SHAUN ESCOFFERY - SPACE RIDER

Just take a listen to this and enjoy!

DONALD SHEFFEY AT SOB'S, NYC

Here's a nice little video of one of my favourite current singers performing live recently - What a voice!

Note: There's a couple of add that Donald did voice over's on at either end of the clip.

LUTHER VANDROSS - SUPERSTAR

The great man at the peak of his powers and live too!
